The Rhonda Schaller Studio is pleased to
curate an exhibition Access: A Feminist Perspective and publish
a color catalogue & artist journal – opening January
18 thru February 10 2007.
This exhibition explores feminist critique,
beginning with work by artists inspired by women or feminist
analysis as pertains to the word "access" and extending
to its impact on subject matter as in the use of body parts
and image; territory, place and space; and identity/spiritual
re-gendering.
Our purpose is to bring another voice to
the public’s cultural record of art made by or inspired
by women past, present and future. The exhibiting artists
work in a variety of media from oil to video to digital ,
reside in the U.S., and define their work and/or ideology
as currently feminist or based on feminist principles or having
grown from the influence of our foremothers in art history.
